Stage 2 Fire Restrictions enacted

Mesa County Commissioners approved a $266,766 contract for the design of a new drainage structure under 36 Road. This is part of a replacement project for a culvert near the East Orchard Mesa fire station.

The existing culvert is old, narrow and inadequate for current road conditions. A new structure is needed to maintain road integrity and safety. The project also includes road profile and sight distance improvements on 36 Road.

The contract with Bohannan Huston Incorporated was approved at the Aug. 11 public hearing. Their design and engineering work includes surveying and environmental analysis.

This planning work is the first part of the replacement project and is scheduled to be done in April 2027.
